Gutsy Women are Traveling

Yep, that's me. I'm leaving on an adventure with my friend Linda and several other women from all other the USA. We are all meeting in Savannah, GA for the beginning of 6 days of plantations, great food, ghost tours, walking, Civil War History, iron work, southern charm, art work, humidity, laughter, and girlfriend fun. I have always wanted to tour that part of the country. Soooooo.... after saving for a year, getting a sub for my precious students, taking 5 days off with no pay, I am off to the south. It's going to be Charleston and Savannah and all I can pack in without totally making my feet sad. I am hoping and praying that I set off no international incidents or even bicoastal incidents. If the south rises again, you will know that the flippinwatermom was involved. I cannot wait!

Taste of Slowdi

It has been an incredible autumn day. The Mister and I ventured out early this morning for church. Just past our neighborhood park is the Lodi Wine and Visitor's Bureau and the large Inn called Wine and Roses. Believe me there was lots going on today. It was our fall Taste of Lodi day and tables were set up, glasses were being polished, lots of white linens, it was looking beautiful. On our return, cars were already lining up and spilling over into our neighborhood. It made our little abode look lovely. There were lots of very fancy Jaguars and Mercedes. Woohoo, it was a sight. My little Honda just grinned. I noticed lots of wineries and tons of gourmet food and some very happy and smiling visitors to Slowdi. Yay for us!
